The NEO Collections project is a collaboration between the Museum für Kunst & Gewerbe in Hamburg, Germany, National Museum Stockholm, Sweden, the Übersee-Museum Bremen, Germany. The project is funded by the Digital Culture Programme of the Kulturstiftung des Bundes (German Federal Cultural Foundation).

In 2021, the Neo Fellowship digital residencies was launched. The fellowship was an exercise in rethinking and reimagining the approach to museum collections and engagement. On the project blog, the residents reflect on their work with the museum.
